Journaling, Journaling, Journaling
I've been neglecting this blog space for so long now... thought I'd post just a few of the many hundreds of art journal pages I've created over the past year... One thing I can definitely say that I've gotten out of journaling... is that I feel more confident with my mediums, more confident with my process and way more confident over all with creating. I recommend art journaling to everyone!... especially those creative types... it does wonders!

Just Breathe....
Thought I'd share one of my newest paintings/creations.
A layered technique. A colorful take on a patchwork like background and grunged it up with a textured aged look.
The word 'breathe' tends to appear in my art journaling a lot... it's a word that comes in my sub conscious and conscious enough that I notice.
I have my own meaning for the word and why I like it so much... and you may have your own - something completely different.
Perhaps it's a message to just breathe - take it easy in life as much as possible. Or it can be a reminder that 'breathing' is all you have to worry about - and the fact that we breathe automatically without even having to think about it I guess can tell us in a way that worry shouldn't be a regular occurance.

Super Ted the Super Hero is born!
After writing my own super hero /comic book kids party ideas page (click here to check it out - it's filled with heaps of free stuff!!) I noticed what a popular and fun theme it is among kids. So I was sitting on my art table the other night pencil in hand, thinking about the super hero thing when this 'Super Ted' was born. Painted with watercolors then I created the remaining design in adobe illustrator. Lots of fun to do!

Mason Jars, Burlap and White Lace are definite wedding trends this season...especially proving exceptionally popular on Pinterest.
Some lovely examples of Mason Jar, Lace and Burlap used in weddings are shown below. I can definitely see why they're proving popular trends... not only are they absolutely gorgeous but they're relatively easy to DIY and very cost effective. Definitely my kind of style too!! I just love it all!!
